SUMNER — A crop duster that crashed near a Dollar General in Sumner on Thursday, Aug. 8, claimed the life of a Henry County man, KWWL reports.
The pilot, David Baker, 56, of Swedesburg, was flying in Bremer County when the crop duster crashed. It is unclear what caused the crash, but KCRG reports federal investigators are looking into what happened.
The plane clipped a number of power lines on the way down but did not crash into any buildings. Wittnessses who spoke to KWWL said they saw a large “fireball” following the crash and that a wheel flew off and into a bank.
