Seven members of the West Chester United Methodist Women met at the church at 9 a.m., Wednesday, May 8.
Nancy Schmidt opened the meeting with a reading from The Upper Room, “Learning from Bees.” Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. Doris Fisher gave the treasurer’s report. The upcoming yearly program was reviewed. Members were reminded of upcoming events being held at the district and state level.
Sewing co-chairs Marsha Patterson and Lolita Brinning shared their experiences with making three weighted lap blankets. They will be donated to the Mid-Prairie special-education teacher at the elementary level. Members then worked on sewing one-handle school bags to be used for school supplies that will go to Midwest Mission Distribution Center. The group socialized during lunch.
The next meeting will be held on Saturday, June 29, as a church work day. Anita Miller will coordinate work to be completed.
