CPR class set to be held March 16

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 13 members present.

Lions President Adam Mitchell called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Larry Fletcher gave the opening prayer.

Following a delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler the meeting reconvened. The minutes of the Jan. 28. 2019, meeting were read by Secretary pro tem Billie Jo Rose and they were approved as read. There was no treasurer’s report.

Unfinished Business: Lion Steve Williams will pick up the meat and Lions Mindy Wilson and Mike Massey will pick up groceries on Saturday morning for the Pancake supper that evening.

New Business: It was mentioned that a close tally of the number attending the pancake supper is important.

A letter was read from The Southern College of Optometry in Tennessee asking for a donation and this was tabled until next month.

A thank-you was read from a community member for the gift they had received at the Lions annual Christmas drawing. They stated they thought this was a very good community event that helps bring everyone together.

Lion Larry Love brought to the club’s attention that the Community Room is badly in need of painting and was asking if the club would be interested in helping with this. This also was tabled until the next meeting.

There being no further business to come before the club, the meeting adjourned.

Lion Fletcher shared trivia with the group relating to landmarks, across the country and in Iowa.

It has been made apparent that several community members and others in outlying communities have been meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday evenings at Agri-Way Partners in Crawfordsville to play Euchre. Participants don’t have to have a partner to join in. They encourage anyone interested to join them. For Further information contact Buzz at 319-330-1323.
