Get your Christmas List ready for Santa for he is on his way to Mt. Pleasant on Thursday, Dec. 2 when Mt. Pleasant Main Street hosts “A Holiday on Main” from 5-8 p.m.
There also will be a Lighted Holiday Parade hosted by the Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce Alliance that will wind down Jefferson Street, Monroe Street and then down North Main Street.
“For more than 20 years, downtown businesses have featured live window displays, carolers, hot cocoa and children’s activities,” said Lisa Oetken, Main Street Mt. Pleasant Executive Director and event coordinator.
The event will be located at the Mt. Pleasant Central Park.
“Santa will come in on the parade, and children will have the opportunity to have their photo taken with Santa Claus during the event at the Santa House located in the park. They can even give Santa their lists” said Oetken. “We will have horse-drawn carriage rides that night, and chestnuts roasted on an open fire also will be offered.”
The Jefferson Antique Mall will be doing s’mores, and Mrs. Claus is reading a story at Mirror Image for the evening’s festival-goers. Several shops will have children’s craft activities available.
Local shops in the Main Street area will remain open until 8 p.m. for those wanting to check items off their shopping lists.
