Addington Place of Mt. Pleasant, formerly Sunnybrook, on 1406 E. Linden Drive is currently doing a Soldiers’ Angels “Treat for Troops” supply drive until the end of January.
Individuals can donate and drop off items at Addington Place anytime between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
“We wanted to do something for the troops, and we have been doing a drive since 2019,” said Cody Flietner, Addington Place community relations coordinator. “It has been getting bigger and better each year.”
“The drive for this year is going really well,” said Flietner. “I have has a lot of people messaging me as to what is needed. We have a full list on our event page.
“But I can tell you that we need socks and items for foot care. Other items that are needed are treats, such as mixed nuts, food and drink, toiletries and deodorant, entertainment items. Things such as batteries are greatly needed.”
The community will gather the donations and at the end of the month and care package the items at the Mt. Pleasant National Guard and then they will be redistributed to the troops around the globe.
“I think that it is a great event to bring the community together for the troops overseas,” said Flietner. “It kicks off the new year with something positive.”
