Area churches take part in World Day of Prayer

The World Day of Prayer, held worldwide since 1927, was well attended at St. James in Washington on March 4, with seven local churches participating.
The program format was prepared by women from Ireland, England and Wales.
Those taking part in the 2 p.m. service were Fran Victor, Carol Detweiler, Betty Beenblossom, Jackie Farr, Sharon Niffenegger, Vicky Patterson, Doug and Beth McBride, Melva Mineart, Chris Peiffer, Steve Wolfer, Deb Vittetoe and Audrey Reed.
Next year, United Presbyterian Church will be the host for the annual event.
