Bluegrass Road, near N. Iris St. and the Crossroads Industrial Park in Mt. Pleasant, will be getting an upgrade to curb and gutter concrete base road.
“It is currently under design,” Mt. Pleasant City Administrator Brent Schleisman said in an email Monday.
The building of the road will not begin until contracts are settled and there is a break in the winter weather.
MidAm Building Supplies purchased 39 acres of land in the Crossroads Industrial park with plans to build a new 120,000 sq ft building to expand their current operations.
Bluegrass Road is the southern border of the Industrial park, and this upgrade of the road will assist MidAm in their business projects.
“It will open up an additional 40 acres of crop ground on the south side of Bluegrass Road for future industrial development,” said Schleisman. “It also will give a paved surface to Steff’s Auction/Real Estate Group as well.”
