COLUMBUS JUNCTION -- The Pekin and Columbus volleyball teams engaged in a Southeast Ioa Super Conferenc battle Tuesday before Pekin emerged wit a 3-1 victory.
The Panthers won 25-19, 20-25, 25-21, 25-19.
'We had a great night (Tuesday) night,” Columbus coach Lori Beenen said. 'We are getting better.”
Michelle Diaz led Columbus with eight kills and two blocks while Olivia Carrier produced eight kills and six aces. Kayla Beenen recorded five kills and five digs. Victoria Howell had four aces. Jobie Lekwa notched three aces and five digs. Emma Milder got to 13 digs and Taylor Howell had 22 assists.
Columbus is 3-9 and plays at Wapello today.
Pekin is 8-6 and hosts Highland today.
Pekin got 16 kills and 10 digs from Allison Bainbridge and 13 assists from Erika Coleman.
