In volleyball action Thursday, Mid-Prairie played its final home match of the season.
Columbus 3, Lone Tree 0
COLUMBUS JUNCTION -- The Wildcats swept the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division visitors 25-14, 27-25, 25-11.
Angie Byas had a team-high 10 kills for Columbus while Emma Milder had a team-high 11 digs. Olivia Carrier played five aces and Taylor Howell put up 16 assists. Lizbeth Paz had nine digs. Kayla Beenen produced eight kills, four digs, two aces and two assists.
Columbus is 1-7 in the North and 5-25 overall.
WACO 3, Notre Dame 0
WAYLAND -- WACO got a SEISC South Division win 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 over the Nikes (7-22, 0-7).
The Warriors used a balanced attack in the win as Kristen Conley, Morgan Graber and Clara Schmitz each connected on eight kills. Aubri Garnsey had 20 digs. Laney Graber had 14 digs and 28 assists. Nadiyah Brown had four kills and four blocks. Quinn Scarff landed three aces on 9 of 10 serves.
WACO is 3-5 in the South and 13-9 overall. WACO plays Saturday at the Davis County Tournament.
Bellevue 3, Mid-Prairie 0
WELLMAN -- The River Valley Conference match was won by the visitors (13-13, 2-6) 25-21, 25-21, 25-11.
'We were disappointed we couldn't find a way to win the final points to take Set 1 and 2, but there were many positives,” Mid-Prairie coach Cindy Miller said. 'Makensie Rich finished her final home match leading the offense. We were able to place a great percentage of the serve received balls and digs in system, which we have been stressing in practice. Paige Peiffer came off the bench in Game 3 and played with confidence in the back row, providing some much-needed depth.”
Rich had six kills as Caitlyn Riggan set 12 assists and had 12 digs. Abbi Patterson had 17 digs and five assists.
Mid-Prairie (6-13, 0-8) plays at Clear Creek-Amana's tournament Saturday.
Iowa Mennonite School 3, Highland 0
RIVERSIDE -- Highland was swept by the visitors 27-25, 25-9, 25-17 in this SEISC North Division game.
Mia Graber had 18 kills, courtesy of Samantha Miller's 25 assists. Suzanna Yoder's play resulted in 17 digs. Miller and Graber played three aces apiece.
IMS is 14-12 overall and 6-2 in the North. IMS plays Saturday in Washington's tournament.
Highland is 2-5, 3-16 and plays at Lone Tree Tuesday.
