Crawfordsville Lions Club meets

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Jan. 24 at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 12 members in attendance.

Lion President Gene Miller called the meeting to order by leading the Pledge of Allegiance Lion Fletcher gave the prayer.

Minutes of the January 10, 2022 meeting were read by Lion Rose. They were approved with one correction, that being the meeting date of the SE9 District Convention is to be held April 8 and 9, not as previously stated. The treasurer's report was given by Lion treasurer Finke.

Old Business: It was brought to the Club's attention that the District SE Convention will now be held virtually, due to COVID. As for the International Convention to be held in Canada in June, that is still to be determined. The upcoming Pancake Supper to be held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022 was discussed, along with the advertising. Plans are being made to serve 250.

New Business:The Club voted once again to participate in the WACO scholarship program in 2022. The Christmas lights were again discussed, with several ideas as to how to handle some of the lighting problems.

There being no further business to come before the club, the meeting adjourned.

Joel Greene and Mindy Wilson provided delicious refreshments for all to enjoy.

Crawfordsville City residents are reminded that garbage bags and stickers may be purchased from City Clerk Carolyn Love on Monday and Friday at Crawfordsville Feed & Grain and Wednesday at the Crawfordsville City Hall.

Residents are reminded that the WACO Food Pantry is open the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month. 2-3:30 p.m. for those 60 and older or those needing assistance and 3:30-5:30 p.m. for all others.
