The Golden Hawks resumed their perch atop the Class 2A cross-country rankings Tuesday.
Mid-Prairie High School started the season in first for a number of weeks, had fallen as low as fourth, but were second last week. When the eighth weekly rankings were released Tuesday by the Iowa Association of Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches, the Golden Hawks had flown back to the No. 1 spot.
Mid-Prairie junior Marie Hostetler has remained No. 1 in the individual rankings all season. Teammate Mitzi Evans is ranked 18th this week. She is just a freshman. Senior Moriah Brase is rated 26th.
