Washington’s run at the 2024 Southeast Conference title ended with a second-place finish, and that was reflected by the All-SEC team, which was released just ahead of the weekend.
The Demons earned seven names on the All-SEC team, including two on the first team. Fairfield and Mt. Pleasant both had four names apiece, including one each on the first team.
Washington’s two first teamers were sisters Leighton and Bella Salazar.
Leighton Salazar had a ridiculous year at the plate, hitting .524 with 10 doubles, three triples and 19 RBIs. Bella Salazar hit .348 with five doubles, one triple and 37 RBIs, and also had a phenomenal year in the circle, going 13-8 with a 2.67 ERA and 200 RBIs.
The Demons put three players on the All-SEC second team. Ella Greiner, Alyvia Anderson and Colbie Greiner were named second-teamers. Emery Walton and Kendall Hinrichsen were both honorable mentions.
Fairfield’s lone first-teamer was Faiath Jones, who led the team with a .340 batting verage. She finished the year with four doubles, one triple and 18 RBIs.
The Trojans had one second-teamer, as Savannah Hollander represented the team. Fairfield’s Laney Norris and Olivia Hollander were both honorable mentions.
Mt. Pleasant’s Emma Starr landed on the first team. Starr broke out in her senior year, hitting .341 with seven doubles, two triples, a home run and nine RBIs.
The Panthers were represented on the second team by Keagyn Coleman. Both Myah Starr and Lila Cook were named to the honorable mention list.
