Gloria Jean Huff, 73, of Fairfield, passed away April 13, 2021, at her home after a long battle with cancer.
Jean was born Feb. 21, 1948, in Meade, OK, to Floyd Earl Jr. and Ellen Frances Boettcher Grove. She married Tom Baker June 1965 and they later divorced. She married John Huff Sr. May 15, 1987.
A 1966 graduate of Cardinal High School, Jean worked for Rockwell International, Kessler Distributing and B Flight, Inc., in Fairfield before moving to Ottumwa, where she and John met and never left each other's side. They moved to California for a few years and then back to Iowa because she didn't want to miss out on her grandchildren growing up. Jean retired from French Reneker in 2018.
Left to share her memory is her husband, John; her children, Tony (Norma) Baker and Steve Baker, both of Fairfield, Laura (Thad) Crane of Selma, John (Amy) Huff of Douds and JoEllen (Deal) Keasling of Batavia; 10 grandchildren, Neysa, Keirston, Shannan, Kaleb, Chelsey, Emily, Ashlynn, Kaylee, Harleigh and Brooklyn; four great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Larry Grove of Eldon, Peggy Bleything, Mike (Merry) Grove and Lynn (Bob) Diveley, all of Ottumwa; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Eric Baker; and a granddaughter, Courtney Huff.
Open visitation will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 18, at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday, April 19, at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Richard Schlotter officiating. For those unable to attend the service, you may watch it live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will take place in Eldon Cemetery at a later date.
