Hazel L. Roath, 97, of Mount Pleasant, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022, at Savannah Heights of Mount Pleasant.

Hazel was born Dec. 10, 1924, in Battleground, Wash., the daughter of Wallace and Celia Fennimore. In 1940, she was united in marriage to Winton Bush, he preceded her in death. Hazel was a loving, caring lady who always had a positive outlook on life and a smile on her face.

She is survived by her children, Lenore Kennedy of Amboy, Wash., Barbara Hutchinson of North Carolina and Jerry (Connie) Bush of Mount Pleasant, 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, a daughter-in-law, a grandson and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at Grant Cemetery, rural Rome, with Pastor Guy Sammons officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, April 22, at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. The family will not be present. Memorials may be directed to Rome Baptist Church or to Grant Cemetery in her memory.
