Henry County Public Health is offering booster and children's COVID-19 shots

Henry County Public Health is now offering booster shots for individuals who received a Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
Those individuals who received a booster shot at six months or more after their initial series are qualified. Included in the eligibility are people that are age 65 or older, age 18 or older who reside in long term care settings, high-risk settings or have underlying medical conditions.
It is recommended that individuals age 18 or older, who received a single dose J&J Janssen one dose should receive a booster at least two months after completing the first shot. Boosters can be a different brand than your original dose shot.
Children are now approved for the pediatric Pfizer vaccine. Children ages 5-11 are eligible for the pediatric dose, and children ages 12-18 are eligible for a Pfizer, Moderna and J&J Jassen shots. Children can still be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 and can get very sick, they may also experience both short and long-term health complications from COVID-19, and can easily spread COVID-19 to others. All children will need a second shot three weeks after the first dose is issued.

Currently, there are two dates where people can sign up for the vaccine. The dates that are currently open for December are: Friday, Dec. 3, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church; and Friday, Dec.10, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.
