KENT C. SMITH

Humboldt, Tenn.

Kent C. Smith passed away on October 18, 2021, in Humboldt, Tennessee. He was born in Fairfield, Iowa, and grew up in Birmingham, Iowa. He was a graduate of Fairfield High School and the University of Iowa. He joined the Air Force in 1968 and retired in 1990. During his time in the Air Force, Kent, along with his wife and best friend, Darlene were able to travel to many different places to include Hawaii and Myrtle Beach. They chose to make their home for the last 17 years in Humboldt, Tennessee.

Kent was a lover of all things fun and sports related. Whether it was rooting on the Iowa Hawkeyes, Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Braves or Phil Mickelson, playing card games, board games or ping pong, he always aimed to win. Whatever it was, he made it more fun by being around. Many would even say he was just a big kid himself. Whether it involved singing silly songs, dancing in the living room, or making slime. Kent was quite the competitor, and he never gave up fighting no matter the obstacles he was faced with. He will always be remembered as strong and brave.

Kent was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, who will be dearly missed by his family and friends he made along the way.

Funeral services for Kent were held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Medina Funeral Home in Medina, Tennessee.
