The Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market found its way back to the McMillan Park Wright Family Pavilion Wednesday.
Previously, the farmers market was setting up shop outside of Orschlen Farm & Home. The turnouts weren’t the best.
It makes the return to the pavilion with the end of Old Threshers.
The market has been experiencing great turnouts as people are excited for it to return to McMillan Park.
“We have around 20 vendors during the week of the fair, and we only had half the pavilion,” Market Manager Vicki Messer said. “I’d say we’ve currently been averaging 14 vendors.”
One vendor has been selling since the beginning. Gerald Freyenberger has been selling his produce for around 35 years.
For Freyenberger, it's the people that keep him coming back year after year.
Anyone who wants to sell their products can set up shop at the market.
“Sometimes we get new vendors that come in and ask if they can set up,” Messer said. “I always say, ‘Yeah well get you a spot’.”
There are a large variety of products that can be found at the market.
There’s fresh produce, soaps, gnomes and home goods to name a few.
Relay for Life has a vendor booth where proceeds from products sold go to the American Cancer Society.
The market’s season spans from May 22 to Oct. 16. It’s currently open on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
