People are being misled on news
LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Sep. 20, 2021 4:57 pm
This is a thought about how “well-informed” people are about the situation of our state and/or country according to news they watch or listen to. If a person watches the news on ABC, NBC or CBS, regular TV stations that have been around and dependable forever, they will get all the news as events actually happen. But if they listen to the Fox News station, much of what happens will be deleted or edited — leaving them poorly (or incompletely) informed.
Recently in visiting with an old friend, she was stating part of a news release she had watched on the Fox network that evidently hadn’t given all the facts, so she was misled into thinking that no effort was being made in handling a world happening. If in fact she had turned in to news on NBC, CBS or ABC, she would get the whole story.
People who believe only what is portrayed as complete news on Fox TV (or radio) are being misled, and it’s sad because they are basically good people.
Perhaps that was what caused the sad and preventable event that took place at our U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 of this year. But people can change, and there is hope.
