Richard Eugene Williams, 74, of Elma, Iowa, formerly

of Washington, Iowa, died Saturday, December 18, 2021, following a sudden illness.

Richard was born July 8, 1947, in Washington, Iowa,

the son of Jess and Helen (Courtney) Williams. He attended country school in Washington County. He was married to Joan Williams.

Richard lived most of his life in Washington and Henry counties. He worked for Kline Manufacturing in Burlington, Iowa; Richard's Construction and lastly worked for Richland Trucking Company. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering with small engines.

He is survived by three sons, Donald Williams of Washington, Iowa, Richard (Jackie) Williams of Kalona, Iowa, and Kenneth (Melissa) Williams of Brighton, Iowa; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Carroll Smith of Ottumwa, Iowa, Johnny Williams of Washington, Iowa, Gloria Goodwin of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Jan Lynch of Arizona; Michelle (Larry) Wulff of Keota, Iowa, and Kim Savage of Richland, Iowa; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; wife, Joan; daughter, Leslie Williams; daughter-in-law, Brenda Williams; brothers, Bernard and Orville Williams; and sister, Cynthia Woodward.
