Funeral services for Ricki L. Sinn, 61, of Kalona, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 29, at Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. The service will be available via livestream on the Beatty Peterseim Facebook page. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for District 14, ABATE of Iowa, Washington. Ricki Sinn died Sunday, April 25, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospital.

Ricki Lee Sinn was born March 6, 1960, in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, the son of James Henry and Hazel Ilene (Barr) Sinn. He attended Washington schools and graduated from WACO High School. He was employed at Bluebird and Modene. On July 2, 1983, he was united in marriage to Joyce Knerr in Wayland. He enjoyed being in the timber, mushroom hunting, fishing and was an avid ginseng hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Kalona; three children, Robert of Newton, Rachel and Pam of Kalona; six grandchildren, Caleb "Celup", Alisha, Ian, Edward "Big Ed," Sydney and Bella; mother, Hazel Sinn of Washington; one brother, Russ (Vicky) Sinn of Winfield; two sisters, Rebecca (Roy) Fox of Savanah, Ga., and Robin (Mark) Reed of Keota; sister and brother-in-law, Ron (Pat) Brown of Kalona; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles.

Preceding Rick in death was his father, James Sinn; and his mother and father-in-law, Helen and Eugene Knerr.
