Robert F. Colbert, 98, of Riverside, passed Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Pioneer Park in Lone Tree. Private family services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Riverside. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, with military honors. Visitation will be Monday, April 19, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Education Center. Robert Francis Colbert was born March 31, 1923, in Riverside, the son of Timothy F. and Mary Ellen (McKevitt) Colbert. Robert proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII from 1945 to 1947. Robert was united in marriage to Alice Lucille Petru on June 24, 1947 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lone Tree. He worked for Riverside Grain and Feed as a truck driver and then drove school bus for the Highland Community School District for 25 years retiring in 2011. Robert was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Riverside and Lone Tree American Legion Post 457.

Robert will be deeply missed by his eight children, Tim (Bev) Colbert, John (Linda) Colbert, Steve (Kathy) Colbert, Patrick (Michele) Colbert, Julie Colbert, Jean (Bryan) Lenz, Doug (Barb) Colbert and Kathy Burns; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Watkinson; brother-in-law, John Petru and many nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lucille; son-in-law, Tim Burns; great grandson, Kyle Colbert Jr. in infancy; sisters, Helen (Raymond) Slaughter, Johanna (Caroll) Sleichter; and brothers, Richard Colbert and Timothy Francis Colbert.
