Rosina M. Cosgrove, 83, of Salem, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
She was born on Dec. 25, 1937, in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Pete Myron and Alice Frances (Vance) Ibbotson. Rosina was united in marriage to Teddy G. Cosgrove on July 29, 1955, and he preceded her in death on May 29, 2012.
She was a hard working lady who made sure her family was taken care of first. She raised large gardens and canned her produce. She enjoyed crafting, painting, quilting and was a wonderful seamstress. She worked at Metromail in Mt. Pleasant for 10 years. Rosina lived in Fairbanks, Alaska, for 28 years before moving back to the Salem Community.
Rosina is survived by her children, Timothy Cosgrove of Independence, Missouri, Angela (Earl) Cosgrove of Brighton, Illinois, Sarah Watson of Salem and Terry (Carrie) Cosgrove of Houghton, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren with a set of twins on the way; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Tony Cosgrove; and her sister, Frances Ann McElhinney.
Rosina's family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. A memorial has been established in her memory. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
