TAMRA W. (SLOAN) GILMORE

Tamra W. (Sloan) Gilmore, 57, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at her home.

Tammy was born on September 6, 1963, in Mt. Pleasant, the daughter of W. Wray and Yvonne (DeVol) Sloan. She graduated from

Mt. Pleasant High School. She attended college in Cedarville, Ohio, then moving to Florida to further her education in the travel industry. Tammy met Scott Gilmore and was united in marriage on November 2, 2007 in Florida. She made Florida her home for 24 years, before moving back to Mt. Pleasant. Tammy was very devoted to her family; she was a strong and brave person. She enjoyed playing cards, listening to Elvis Presley and watching John Wayne movies. She was an Iowa Hawkeye fan. Tammy attended Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by her husband, Scott of Mt. Pleasant; her father, Wray Sloan of Mt. Pleasant; her sisters and brother, Robin Sloan of Mt. Pleasant, Barb (John) Martin of Winfield and John Sloan of Winfield; along with her nieces, Miranda, Hayle, Emalee, Carlee and Brylee.

Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne Sloan.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. Matt Reno officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to help with her medical expenses. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.
