The Washington High School volleyball team finished the regular season with a 3-0 loss Thursday in Fairfield.
The Demons dropped the match by the scores of 25-19, 25-18, 25-14 to their Southeast Conference foe.
'We played really well on our side of the net,” Washington coach Lexa Mahr said. 'Passing was fine, serve receive is what killed us. We gave them too long of service runs. We did a good job of siding out, and I thought overall we played really hard and we played well.”
Washington finishes with a league mark of 4-3 and an overall ledger of 10-18.
Washington's conference record puts them third in the SEC. Fairfield (26-4) and Ft. Madison (20-11) each finished 7-1 in the conference. Mt. Pleasant (4-28) and Keokuk (4-17) each ended at 1-7 in the loop.
Washington plays host to Keokuk in a Region 8 match to start the Class 4A postseason. The contest begins at 7 p.m. in Washington Wednesday. The winner plays at Cedar Rapids Xavier Tuesday Oct. 23.
'We beat Keokuk the past two times in conference and went five sets with both of them, but feeling very confident and we're ready for them,” Mahr said.
