Chapter L of T.T.T. Society meets in Olds

Audrey Smith, daughter of Sonya Love-Smith and Clyde Smith competed in the State Archery Meet on March 13, 2021.
She competed in two divisions, Bullseye and 3D. In the Bullseye division, she shot a 279 out of 300, shooting 14 10s. She ranked 11 out of 275 middle school girls in the state, 4th out of 101 7th grade girls in the state and 56 out of 666 girls in the state of Iowa.
In 3D, she shot a 276 out of 300, shooting 13 10s in 3D. She ranked 9th out of 90 middle school girls in the state and 2nd out of 27 7th grade girls in the state and 32 out of 228 girls in the state of Iowa. This 9th place ranking earns her a trip to Nationals which will be virtual this year. She will shoot for the national tournament sometime between April 18 and May 8.
TTT Society
On Monday, March 22, Chapter L of the National T.T.T. Society met at the Olds United Church of Christ. President Barb Shelman called the meeting to order. This is the first meeting held since February 2020, due to the COVID pandemic, as no public meetings were held.
Seven members answered roll call by telling what they had been doing since Covid.
Officers: It was decided to retain the same officers elected in November 2019 and to follow the 2020 monthly Program Booklet for activities. The officers will be: President: Barb Shelman; Vice President: Nancy McGohan; Treasurer: Missy Fear. A volunteer is needed to fill the Recording Secretary position.
Correspondence: Missy Fear read a Thank You note from the National Project Fund or making the group's 2020 pledge. A thank you was also given to Glenda Alvine who has helped promote T.T.T. for 10 years.
Treasurer's Report: Missy Fear gave this and balances in all funds and stated all memberships were paid and sent to National.
Committee Reports:
Camp: Iowa is giving Chapters Options this year:
Tier 1: Attend Camp Wyoming, no bus transportation or carnival, capacity will be at 50%, only two cabins will associate together for meals/swimming and other activities.
Tier 2: Camp on your own: Camp Crooked Creek was discussed.
Tier 3: Camp in a Box: The box contains activities, crafts T-shirt, etc Cost $75.
Following discussion a unanimous decision was made to send the girls to camp. Parents were contacted and they were in favor of sending their girls to an overnight camp. After more discussion, it was decided, due to transportation and health concerns, to see if the girls can get into Crooked Creek Camp. Nancy and Barb will contact the camp to see if there are open slots available for two girls.
Charity and Camp Girls' Gifts: Nothing to report.
Ways and Means: Karolyn suggested members be contacted for a donation since the Chapter has been unable to raise funds during COVID. President Shelman will prepare a letter/and or email everyone.
New Business: Iowa State Convention was held April 10 via Zoom. Fairfield Chapter Z hosted from the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center in Fairfield.
Iowa Convention 2022 — Chapter DD from Mt. Pleasant President Sheri Hope is planning the 2022 Convention to be held at the Pzazz in Burlington. Barb attended the planning meeting March 14 and signed Chapter L up for the Hospitality Committee. The Wayland Chapter will join the local chapter on this committee. Additional informational meetings will be held for Zone 3 to help with planning. The theme will be "This Little Light of Mine."
Bills for Payment: It was moved and seconded and motion passed to send money to the Iowa State Board and the National Project Fund.
Proposal of Names for Membership: None.
Adjournment: President Shelman thanked those who attended. The next meeting will be Monday, April 26, 2021 at the Olds United Church of Christ at 7 p.m. Roll call will be "What is the scariest thing you've ever done?" Social distancing and face mask will again be practiced.

The Crawfordsville Fire Department had a very successful drive-thru Pancake Breakfast on Saturday morning, April 3. They report 276 meals served and would like to thank everyone who took part.
