Crawfordsville News: Club updates

The White Cloud Club met Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ainsworth Four Corners with Betty Lintz as hostess. Ten were in attendance.
Margaret Patterson began the meeting with a reading called 'In the Bathroom.”
Roll call was answered by each telling if they liked to plant flowers in the spring.
Pat Miller read the minutes of the February and March meetings and gave the treasurer's report. Old and new business was discussed.
Attending were Jolene Cothurst, Frieda Finke, Joyce Huff, Betty Lintz, Betty Lucas, Pat Miller, Margaret Patterson, Pauline Richardson, Virginia Sands and Shannon Sells.
Next month will be the club's Plant and Bulb exchange and the meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 11:30 a.m. at the Ainsworth Four Corners. Betty Lucas will be hostess and roll call will be 'did you April Fool someone?”
The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, April 8, 2019 at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 15 present. Lion President Adam Mitchell opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance and Lion Larry Love gave the opening prayer.
After a delicious meal prepared and served by Alice Hochstetler, the meeting reconvened. The minutes of the March 25 meeting were approved as read. The treasurer gave his report.
Old Business: The following slate of officers were balloted upon favorably: President, Larry Swailes; 1st Vice President, Mike Massey; 2nd Vice President, Steve Williams; 3rd Vice President, Gene Miller; Secretary, Nancy Love; Treasurer, Randy Finke; Tail Twister, Larry Fletcher; Lion Tamer, Mike Massey; One Year Directors, Lance Miller and Joel Greene and Two Year Directors, Billie Jo Rose and Luetta Greene. It was moved, seconded and approved to sponsor the Crawfordsville Community Club's Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20.
New Business: President Adam read an invitation from the Wednesday Study Club to attend a presentation by Chris Chischaste from the Davenport Mississippi Valley Blood Center on Wednesday, April 17. He also brought to the club's attention the renewal notice of the club's Adopt-a-Highway permit which will be good until April 1, 2020. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned, but not without a rousing round of trivia from the faithful Tail Twister. A reminder that the Crawfordsville Fire Department will be holding a Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Crawfordsville Fire Station from 6-9 a.m.
A free-will offering will be taken. There is also Raffle Fundraiser taking place. Two Grand Prize drawings for half a hog with standard processing will be offered. The drawing will take place at 9 a.m.; need not be present to win.
Easter Egg Hunt will follow at 9:30 a.m. at the Ball Field.
