Fairfield library’s Science Cafe on April 19

Please join Dr. Bob Wallace, Tuesday, April 19 from 7-8 p.m. for another addition of Science Café at the Fairfield Public Library.
The topic this month is "Deaths of Despair; and What is Happening to America's Health.”
Robert Wallace, MD, MSc, was born and raised in Chicago. He attended Northwestern University and the Northwestern University Medical School.
He did his residency in internal medicine at New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center. He then spent three years in the U.S. Public Health Service, with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; during this period he received an MSc degree in epidemiology from the University at Buffalo.
After that, he came to the University of Iowa, and is currently Professor Emeritus of Epidemiology and Internal Medicine.
His main research interests have been in the prevention and control of chronic diseases among older people.
Currently he is also doing research on the impact of the pandemic on older persons and similarly on the health effects of climate change.
