Martha Washington Questers No. 1032
Connie Pence, Secretary
Sep. 7, 2022 9:51 am
President Jane Fehr hosted the Aug. 26 meeting of Questers No. 1032. Eleven members answered the roll telling if they traveled out of state this summer for vacation or stayed in Iowa.
The work session began by assembling new program booklets for the 2022-23 year. Information on changes to membership, upcoming program plans and hostess duties was discussed.
Minutes from the May meeting were approved as read. New Treasurer Virginia Reighard gave the Treasurer’s report and noted that all memberships are paid in full and sent to state.
Correspondence from our State Treasurer included information about the new “Reflections of Iowa: History of Iowa Questers through Glass” is the exhibit. Group discussed possibly going to visit next year on our annual outing in June. Reminder was given of the Fall Fling being held Sept. 30 through Oct. 1 in Jefferson, Iowa titled “Bike, Trains & Automobiles.” Attendees can choose from a number of activities and attractions offered, as well as several speakers of interest. Further information is available to those interested in going.
Our group will have a field trip on Sept. 23 in place of a meeting. Members will travel to Bonapart’s Retreat for lunch, then to Cantril, stopping at other points of interest. We will meet at Methodist Church at 10 a.m. to car pool, with Linda, Jennine and Connie driving.
Since October is the 40th anniversary of our unit, ideas and plans made by the group for a program to celebrate the history of our years together are being made. We will review old minutes, pictures, programs and honor our charter members. Marilyn Whitenack will host that event in her home.
Meeting was adjourned at 2:30, and co-hostess Linda Newton served a delicious dessert to everyone.
