This picture was taken on March 25, 1920, when Don Proudfit turned 4. He was a lifelong resident of Washington, and passed away on Nov. 30, 2000. He is standing in the front yard of his grandmother, Ella Proudfit's house on the corner of West Washington Boulevard and North Avenue B. Across the street is the Second United Presbyterian Church, which was torn down in 1925.

The money from this grant will go toward the indoor athletic complex, which will be built on the northeast side of Mid-Prairie High School in Wellman.
