The Sound of Washington Choir practices for their concert planned for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at the Washington United Methodist Church. The special needs? adult choir is directed by Amy Drayfayl. She has chosen some rousing campfire songs for the choir to perform, and the 28 members love doing so. The public is welcome to attend.

The Heritage Area Agency on Aging recently held its annual meeting and recognition event at the Cedar Rapids Public Library. This event honors members of the community who are nominated for awards by their peers.The late Wendel Guy of Washington was named the Outstanding Senior Volunteer for Washington County.
