Ian and Whitney Friedrich Wolf would like to announce the arrival of their first child, Aidan Preston.Aidan was born Nov. 11, 2013, at Newport Hospital in Newport, R.I. Mary Stecker with Bridget Hollingsworth, and friend Joel, all of Fairfield, visited her mother, Winifred Fritz, on Dec. 8. They were joined that afternoon and evening by Mary?s son, J.D. Hollingsworth of Packwood. They enjoyed the evening meal and decorating Winifred?s Christmas tree.

The Brighton Bear Cub Club gathered Wednesday after school for a fun mix of holiday activities. The main objective of the day was to celebrate the season by giving to others.The youth worked together to read baking directions, bake cookies, and package them for downtown businesses in Brighton. The Mid-Prairie Community School District Board of Education will meet on Monday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. at the high school library in Wellman.The board members will adopt an agenda and hold a public forum. Other agenda items include finances in regard to the District Building Project, announcements, and suggestions for the next agenda.

On Monday, Dec. 16, the Mid-Prairie High School band will present its Winter/Christmas concert. The concert will feature the jazz band, concert band and a group of band students playing several favorite Christmas carols. The concert starts at 7:15 p.m. in the high school multipurpose room.
