Washington Conservation to hold nature camp for kids

Have your kids explore the outdoors this summer. The Washington County Conservation Board is once again hosting day camps for preschoolers through seventh grade. These nature camps are designed around the natural world at Marr Park and will be fun as well as educational. Activities will include hikes, games, crafts, fishing, and exploration. Participants also will create their own camp T-shirt. Refreshments will be served each day.
All camps are limited to 12 students, and run Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. until noon, except for Tadpole Camp.
The following camps are available for 2019:
Dragonfly Camp: Campers will discover the Superheroes of nature as well as in themselves. For students entering first - second grade. Dates: June 24 - 28 or July 29 - August 2.
Kestrel Camp: This camp on Hunters and Gatherers will have campers exploring the past, interrelationships between animals, and more. For students entering third - fourth grade. Dates: July 8 - 12.
Mink Camp: This summer, we will focus on Bigfoot and You, discovering the mystical, the fantastical, and the myths that surround us. Includes regular camp activities, plus canoeing, two-way radio exploration, and more. For students entering fifth - seventh grade. Dates: July 22 - 26.
Tadpole Camp: This camp is for four - five years old who have yet to start kindergarten. Camp runs 9 - 10:30 a.m., is limited to eight students. Dates: June 17 - 19 or July 1 - 3.
Preregistration is required for these camps. Registration must be received by the Thursday before the camp start date. Payment is required for registration.
For those in need of financial assistance, scholarships are available.
