Washington United Methodist Women give book reports

The Washington United Methodist Women met on April 12, 2019 at the church with Connie Pence and Vic Patterson hosting a lunch. Sixteen members attended. President Marilyn Whitenack gave an opening 'This is Easter.” Ilene Schnicker gave devotions using Hosea 6:1 and Romans 14:9.
Sally Beezley gave a report on the book, 'In the Presence of my Enemy” by Gracia Burnham. It told the story of being kidnapped in the Philippines and held hostage for over a year. It was a story of faith, love and struggle.
Shirley Pfeifer gave a report on 'Threading My Prayer Rug” by Sabeeha Rehman. It was the story of an arranged marriage by Pakistani parents following the attack on the twin towers.
Membership chairwoman, Cheryl Crone gave a reading about Spring. To end the afternoon meeting members stood in a line and gave back rubs. The next meeting will be held on May 10. Karen McCreedy will have the program on a Good Samaritan Project. She invites members to bring their own project to share.
