The Fairfield High School football camp got underway at the FHS practice field Tuesday evening. Players were introduced to position drills for linemen, linebackers and defensive backs (pictured) as part of the camp that will be in session each night this week through Friday. Official practice will begin Monday as head coach Mike Schenck prepares the Trojans for their season opener at Davis County Aug. 26.

Fairfield Middle School football players work on their spread option offense at football camp this morning. The middle school session is underway at 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday this week as players and coaches deal with soaring temperatures that were reported as 97 degrees before noon today.

Fairfield golfers Cody Kool and Davis Lowenberg recently received Class 3A all-state honors after big seasons this spring.Kool was tabbed to the first team while Lowenberg grabbed a second-team nod.The pair led the Trojans back to the state tournament where they finished eighth in the final team standings. The juniors will be back for their senior seasons next spring.

Former Fairfield High School standout Rachel Robinson was recently named to the ICCAC First-Team All-Regional Academic squad.Robinson has been a pitcher for Marshalltown Community College the past two seasons and received first-team academic honors both years. She graduated from MCC this spring and will continue her softball career at St. Ambrose University.Robinson graduated from Fairfield High School in 2009.
