Fairfield Fire Department responded to a brush fire at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday on set aside land west of Pleasant Lake. Water was used to extinguish the fire which under control by 5:30 p.m. Firefighters were recalled at 6:15 p.m. to the area when the fire rekindled from smoldering pine needles. Firefighters stayed on the scene until the fire was extinguished at 8:47 p.m. The original source of the fire is unknown.
