If you have ever been snipe hunting, you probably don?t believe there really is such a bird. Pictured above is a Snipe, a common shorebird with an extremely long bill that it uses to probe in the muc for small invertebrates. It is so well camouflaged that it is not not often seen before it flushes from the grass. This one was seen near a small pond on a March birding trip to Mount Pleasant.
