The Fairfield City Council approved the employment of two new police officers Monday, bringing the 14-person department back up to 13.Kathy Blumhagen and Jason Chalupa have been hired effective March 5.A third new officer is in line for employment as soon as Blumhagen or Chalupa completes field training. The department is only equipped to have two in training at a time.
