Edward Wood of the Fairfield Park and Recreation Department repairs a water line in the Central Park rose beds this morning. An abundance of spring and summer precipitation has lessened the need watering this year. Wood said the repairs were needed due to winter damage.

In the past couple of weeks feathered parents have been kept extremely busy feeding their newly fledged youngsters and keeping them from harm. Mama Downey Woodpecker flew to the suet feeder, quickly followed by a nearly-as-large offspring that waited for her to pick food from the suet block and feed him/her.
