People seeking relief from the hot weather will be able to cool off at the Waterworks Park beach and the O.B. Nelson Park municipal pool.The beach at Waterworks Park Reservoir No. 1, also known as Bonnifield Lake, opened for the season Thursday afternoon and the outdoor pool is set to open Monday afternoon, announced Derik Wulfekuhle, Fairfield Park and Recreation director.The beach is open from dawn to dusk daily.

An investigation into vandalism and a threat discovered this morning at Van Buren Community School District?s middle school is ongoing.According to school personnel, shattered glass and a written threat on a school door were found at 6:30 a.m. today.Following the school?s emergency plan, the school was evacuated to the Stockport Christian Church, and the Van Buren County Sheriff?s Office was called.Law
