Six Girl Scout leaders from Fairfield were recently recognized for their contributions to the Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois Council. Richard and Janet Andeway will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday.Richard Andeway and Janet Starr were married June 23, 1963, at the Ollie Baptist Church.The couple has three children, Kim Deutsch and husband Don of Ollie, Tina Hoss and husband David of Johnston and Brian Andeway and wife Brenda of Cedar Rapids. They also have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Fairfield Kiwanis Club President Pete Tollenaere presents a $2,500 donation to Fairfield Little League President Catherine Schafer. The donation is to help fund improvements to the dugouts on the major league field along Glasgow Road. The Kiwanis Club was able to make the donation through a grant it received last fall from the Monsanto Corporation.
