Bring the youngsters out to Kids’ Day on July 15
Jul. 6, 2023 9:17 am
Every year, the Henry County Fair devotes one day of Fair Week as “Kids’ Day,” a time when children of all ages are invited to partake in tons of free entertainment at the fairgrounds.
This year’s Kids’ Day will last from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 15. The organizers are sisters Traci Venghaus and Jen Beschorner, who started this tradition a few years ago.
“We usually have over 200 kids attend this event,” Venghaus said. “It gets kids out to the fair who might not otherwise come. It’s fun to see that, over the years, it’s been a well-received event.”
Venghaus said that children ranging in ages from 2-10 should be able to find something fun to do at Kids’ Day.
Activities for Kids’ Day include a bounce house and game pit courtesy of the Iowa Army National Guard, cookie decorating, and more. This year’s presenting sponsor of Kids’ Day is Two Rivers Bank & Trust.
Participating businesses and organizations include:
Windy Acres Pony Rides
Iowa Corn Growers
Face Art by Brandi
Great River Health & Fitness (obstacle course)
Henry County Public Health
New London Library
