City of Mt. Pleasant

Since its founding in 1835, the city of Mt. Pleasant has been at the center of Henry County’s history and development. The seat of the county government since 1837, it has also featured a strong role in culture.

According to the United States Census Bureau, 8,581 individuals called Mt. Pleasant home at the time of the 2023 census. This means Mt. Pleasant has the largest population in Henry County. Additionally, its highway and railroad connections make it the county’s largest business center, drawing many residents from surrounding towns into the Mt. Pleasant workforce.
