Main Street Mount Pleasant

Mount Pleasant Main Street is a nonprofit that was founded in 2002.
The mission of Main Street Mount Pleasant is to stimulate economic development in Mt. Pleasant by encouraging cooperation and building leadership in the community through promoting downtown as an exciting place to live, shop, and invest, by improving the appearance of downtown, and by strengthening and expanding the economic base of downtown. Historic preservation and downtown vitality are key focus areas of the organization.
Main Street Mount Pleasant is a community and volunteer based nonprofit organization, committed to promoting community development and cultural uniqueness and to enhancing the health and streetscape design of the Mt. Pleasant square.
Main Street Mount Pleasant has four core committees.
• Design Committee Mission: To enhance the appearance of downtown while maintaining its historic accuracy and authenticity.
• Promotion Committee Mission: To promote downtown as the unique “place to be” for shopping, eating, entertainment, and quality service.
• Organization Committee Mission: To develop a strong cohesive organization with long-term financial viability.
• Economic Restructuring Committee Mission: To strengthen downtown’s economy Committee investment in new and existing businesses.
