FAIRFIELD — Coming up on the third anniversary of their opening this October, Big Açaí Bowl Fairfield continues to offer delicious sorbet bowls and smoothies using simple ingredients to the supportive Fairfield community.
Big Açaí Bowl Fairfield owner Danae Drish expressed her gratitude for the way the community quickly welcomed the business by stopping in and not being afraid to ask questions, learn how the menu works, and try something new.
“It’s kind of 50/50 if people have seen this before or heard of it before, or even had it before,” Drish said and explained how the menu can be whatever the customer wants to make it. “You can build your own or you can pick one of the combinations we already have. We have something for everybody. We have fruit, chocolate, protein powders and other boosters.”
Since Big Açaí Bowl Fairfield opened, these options have grown to also include more fresh fruit. Even with a few non-vegan add-in options, Drish says the shop’s menu remains an easy vegan option, and she will always prioritize simple ingredients and organic options as often as possible.
“For instance, a lot of our smoothies only have four or five ingredients,” she said. “We actually throw in a banana or actual frozen fruit. It’s not a premade mix. If you just come up and order something off the menu, it’s going to be vegan unless you purposefully add those things.”
Drish has seen growth at the Big Açaí Bowl Fairfield not only from customers learning how the menu works, but also through an increase in catering work. According to Drish, over the last couple of years the business has catered a variety of occasions from teacher appreciations to graduation parties, to business meetings to community events.
