FAIRFIELD — Frontline Print & Web in Fairfield can do any printing job, no matter how big or small.
The business is owned by Roeland Hekker, who bought the customer list from the prior owner in early 2015, and then reincorporated the business under its current name. Frontline Print & Web has multiple facets, such as its retail side where it offers “in-house printing out of the house” that can include things like copying papers or printing photos.
“Our retail section covers anything you would need around the household,” Hekker said.
The other part of the company is its business printing, which generates a large share of its revenue. This covers printing books, annual reports, business cards, marketing flyers and doorknob tags, like the kind the city sends out to remind residents to pay their water bill. Hekker said his company does art reproductions, too, by scanning an image and reproducing it on a canvas or photo paper. Frontline Print & Web makes signs made of various materials such as plastic, or the kind of signs that are backlit.
Hekker said one exciting development on the horizon is that he’s about to open a web store. This will allow customers to place orders online. He expects it to be ready this summer.
Frontline Print & Web has 2.5 employees, and Hekker said he considers himself that half employee. He said he’s hoping to hire another employee.
“We’re looking for a skilled person who would fit in,” he said. “With a small crew like this, it’s important to find the right skill set and personality.”
Hekker said the thing he enjoys most about his job is to set up procedures so that the work flows smoothly.
