In 1961, McCoy Plumbing and Heating was started in Olds, Iowa, and was a dealer for Lennox furnaces and Ritchie Livestock Watering systems.

L.J. Roth purchased McCoy Plumbing and Heating from the McCoy family in 1981 under the umbrella of L.J. Roth Reconstruction Inc. At that time of purchase, the heating and cooling company was Lennox and Weil-McLain boilers.

McCoy Plumbing and Heating continued with Lennox and added Amana Brand and geothermal heating and cooling systems. In 1982, McCoy Plumbing and Heating installed its first geothermal system and from there became associated with Waterfurnace Geothermal systems and started selling Waterfurnace in 1983.

Continuing in the mid-1980s, the second location of McCoy Plumbing and Heating was added in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and later went back to having one location in Olds. During that time Air Duct cleaning services were added and by 1994 McCoy Plumbing and Heating had its first technician certified with National Air Duct Cleaning Association (NADCA). In 2017, hydro excavating services were added.

Today we remain an Amana Brand Dealer and continue to work with Lennox and all other HVAC systems as well as a Waterfurance dealer and service other geothermal systems while continuing to offer backhoe, trenching and hydro-excavating services. We have continued our membership and certification with NADCA to offer the highest quality of service in air duct cleaning to our clients. Proudly serving southeast Iowa and surrounding states since 1961, McCoy Plumbing and Heating remains a family-owned business under L.J. Roth Reconstruction Inc. with five technicians on staff and one office manager.
