Jun. 25, 2024 3:11 pm
In the heart of eastern Iowa, in the City of Washington, W-3 Construction, Inc. stands as a testament to three generations of unwavering dedication to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction.
Our story begins with our owners Craig’s father, and Nathan's grandfather, Homer Wiggins, who embarked on a sales position with Pacemaker Buildings in 1971, igniting a passion for construction that would span decades. Homer’s eldest daughter Linda, a seasoned manager, oversaw Pacemaker Buildings’ offices, further instilling the family's commitment to excellence.
When Pacemaker was acquired by Farm Services and eventually closed its doors, Linda rose to the occasion, founding Connor Pacemaker Buildings, a venture that thrived until the late 2000s. In 1997, during Nathan’s senior year in high school, Craig and Nathan launched W-3 Construction, as a senior-year FFA project, building structures for Connor Pacemaker Buildings.
With a firm foundation in the values of integrity, hard work, and superior craftsmanship, W-3 Construction quickly gained recognition for its exceptional design aesthetics and dedication to quality. In the mid 2000s, Nathan and Craig took roles at Connor Pacemaker Buildings in sales and design. It was here that Father/Son skills and passion for construction were nurtured, setting the stage for their continued entrepreneurial journey.
In 2010, Craig took over operations of Connor Pacemaker Buildings, and changed the name to W-3 Construction. Nathan took time away from construction for a few years, gaining skills in other areas. In 2012, Nathan accepted an ownership role in W-3 Construction, and the father-son team took off from there.
In 2022, W-3 Construction bought out the equipment and hired the eight employees from one of their steel frame erection sub-contractors, forming Riverview Steel, LLC. The steel frame erection specialist crew. This allowed W-3 Construction to add an extremely talented crew to the W-3 Construction team, and further widen their scope of work. Today, the business is proudly run by father and son, who treat every project as if it were their own, refusing to cut corners while maintaining affordable prices for their clients.

Craig E. Wiggins, Vice President
Craig Started selling post frame building in the 1970s and has done everything from pound nails, to driving delivery trucks. His decades of experience in commercial and agricultural construction give him an un-matched knowledge of building these facilities. Craig continues to put himself in his clients’ shoes to offer them what is best for their needs. One of Craig’s infamous lines is “I’ll wave my magic wand, and get it done.” He will go above and beyond for every W-3 Construction client. When not working, Craig can be found traveling and spending time outdoors.
Nathan W. Wiggins, President
Nathan was bitten by the construction bug at an early age, starting out with building blocks on the Living room floor. In high school he worked on post frame and concrete crews. After school, he began working on design and drafting, producing blueprints and helping client design their projects. Nathan then spent time working outside the construction industry as a butcher, followed by as a certified Ag applicator, these endeavors allowed Nathan to hone his customer service skills, and gave him an intimate knowledge of the needs of his clients in the vast agricultural industry. Nathan is passionate about building design, and fully enjoys working with clients from scratch paper to finished projects. When not working Nathan will be found with his family, Wife Jamie and sons Jase and Gage. He loves to fish and hunt, and be outdoors, or on their family farm with the 4-H animals.
