MT. PLEASANT — For over 30 years, Wiley’s Interiors has met the ever-changing needs for the interior of homes in the Mt. Pleasant area. With new trends emerging, this tradition continues by not only providing technologically enhanced merchandise, but a service department to maintain them.
As manufacturers begin to catch up with demand, Wiley’s owner John Housman says new styles, colors, and innovation in both furniture and appliances begin to appear.
“With appliances we’re seeing more and more technology like more Wi-Fi connectivity,” Housman said. “We’re seeing more appliances that consumers can control from their phones. They can receive alerts for things like when their washer or dryer are done. They can look and see if the roast in the oven is done in some new products.”
Housman says he is beginning to see some of this technology in newer furniture options, as well.
“Some motion furniture you can control via an app on your phone with Bluetooth,” he said. “Heatilator fireplaces have a Wi-Fi app now where you can tell the fireplace to turn off, you can tell the fireplace to turn the fan on, adjust the flame height, adjust the fan speed.”
As these new products hit the sale floor at Wiley’s their service department remains on top of maintaining these purchases for customers looking for longevity in these products.
“These days you take your car to a mechanic, and he has a diagnostic tool that he plugs into it to see what error codes appear and we can now do that with a lot of appliances that we sell,” Housman explained. “We have the equipment to do that, and our service technician has training to diagnose that way as well.”
Even with all the new innovations appearing in products sold at Wiley’s, Housman assures his customer base that they will continue to offer more traditional appliances and furniture to meet a variety of needs.
