Class 4A girls pairings released

The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has released its pairings for Class 4A for the 2019-20 postseason basketball season.
The state put five of the six Southeast Conference schools in Region 5.
In Region 6, SEC member Washington, which currently has a record of 11-8, will host a first-round game at 7 p.m. Wednesday against Newton (7-13). The winner of that game will play at Marion (19-0) Saturday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. The other half of the bracket has Oskaloosa (1-18) at Pella (11-9) with the winner playing at Clear Creek-Amana (16-4). The regional championship will be played at the highest remaing seed at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25. The winner advances to the state tournament.
Region 5's first round has Mt. Pleasant (6-14) and Ft. Madison (6-13) playing at Mt. Pleasant at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The winner will play at North Scott (19-0) Saturday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. The other side of the bracket has Burlington (2-13) at Fairfield (12-7) at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The winner plays at Keokuk (16-3) at 5 p.m. Saturday Feb. 22. The Region 5 championship and the game to go to state will be played at the highest remaining seed at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25.
