Trunk or Treat was great event
I’ve spent a few years on the Jefferson County Extension Council, and consequently have assisted with the preparation of the Trunk or Treat event. This year, however, I attended the Oct. 18 event as a grandmother and was awestruck.
We didn’t visit all of the trunks nor activities as we were at the dictates and whims of a 2.5-year-year old, but what I saw told me that the Jefferson County community is thriving and caring. There were over 45 “trunks” and I was very pleased to see the Ambulance and the Sheriff in attendance! (remember, we were chasing a toddler so we didn’t see everyone!) We “clicked in” over 1,700 attendees, but the Walmart parking lot told us that there might have been a lot more, closer to 2,000!
I’d like to send a Job Well Done to the staff (Courtney Burkhalter, Abby Dingman, Jeri Crile, and Cindy Hall) as well as Fairboard, Extension Council and Youth Committee volunteers for helping to make this annual event a safe success for the youth of the county! And deepest thanks to all of the businesses who set up their trunks and activities for the kids! We appreciate your partnership with Extension. It made for a very memorable evening!
